Since 2018, we have been observing the space of reusable packaging. Despite significant progress, we concluded that large-scale reuse was not effective. Operational challenges, poor user experiences, financial constraints, or a combination of these factors hindered success. This is why we created Borro.

From day one, we focused on a few key pillars:

#1 - Frictionless.

Ordering and returning reusable packaging should be fast and easy.

#2 - User-friendly.

Providing an optimal user experience without requiring behavior change.

#3 - Affordable.

Even though reuse is driven by regulation, it should be financially accessible for businesses of all sizes.

After two years of experimentation, we developed the first scalable cashless deposit return software based on QR codes. Here’s why we believe this is the best solution for large-scale reuse.

At Borro, we take a software-first approach. Existing alternatives often demand additional human interaction, leading to higher staff costs, or significant investments in hardware. These costs do not decrease at scale, presenting a major challenge to mainstream reuse.

Borro can operate independently or integrate seamlessly with your existing Point of Sale (PoS) system. In both cases, increased use of reusable packaging makes Borro more cost-effective.

To support large-scale reuse, we’ve adopted a pay-per-use model. This means you only incur a fee per transaction, making it easy and affordable to manage reusable packaging. Finally.
